Research Fellow (postdoc), TGF-β optogenetics

We are seeking a highly motivated research fellow to advance an optogenetic platform we have developed for reversible optogenetic activation of the TGF-β pathway. This platform provides a uniquely powerful approach to dissect the TGF-β signalling network in space and time. The work will be performed in various cancer cell lines and stem cell lines, integrating both experimental and computational approaches.

Requirements

  • PhD in Life Sciences or a related field with at least three years of relevant research experience and training. Specific experience in confocal microscopy, lentivirus-based cell line manipulation, and systems biology are each a plus.
  • Experience in computational analysis of genomic data.
  • Demonstrated accomplishments and proven track record of driving research to high impact publication.
  • Strong interest in cancer biology and the quantitative understanding of signalling systems.
  • Strong team player with a commitment to a diverse and productive work environment.
  • Demonstrated good oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Development of novel optogenetic cell lines
  • Design and analysis of experiments to test the precise spatiotemporal dynamics of pahway signaling
  • ChIP-seq and RNA seq experiments
  • Analysis of ChIP-seq and RNA-seq data
  • Liasing with clinical and scientific collaborators
  • Writing and presenting research progress

Research Assistant

Applicants are invited for a research assistant in The Systems Biology and Chromatin Computation laboratory (PI: Greg Tucker-Kellogg), which studies genomic regulation by signal transduction pathways and chromatin dynamics. The lab use molecular biology, imaging, genomics and computational biology to advance understanding of key pathways disregulated in cancer. We are seeking a research assistant for a variety of functions relevant to our research.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, with at least one year of relevant research work experience.
  • Experience in mammalian cell culture, molecular cloning, and protein work such as Western blots.
  • Background and interest in cancer biology is a plus
  • Strong team player with a commitment to a diverse and productive work environment.
  • Demonstrated good oral and written communication skills.
